Although storage systems in the Netherlands are still primarily used for server rooms, hospitals and enthusiasts who want to live self-sufficiently, revolutionary developments are taking place on an international scale; prices are plummeting, large production facilities are being built and Germany is subsidizing storage systems on a large scale.
According to the roadmap of Rolf Heynen, CEO of research agency Dutch New Energy Research, the energy transition is characterized by three phases: scale, smart, storage. In recent years, the Dutch solar energy sector has matured and increased in size. Now that sustainable energy generation is integrated with energy management, home automation and software systems, the demand for smart storage will inevitably grow explosively.

Smart storage will not remain a niche market for long. Now that the net metering scheme is being phased out, batteries will also become profitable in the residential sector as a result of increased self-consumption of energy. In the Smart Storage Pavilion, market leaders will present their latest products, services and innovations to help realise the required storage capacity and level of self-consumption.
The Smart Storage Pavilion can be visited for three days at Solar Solutions International. This trade show covers an impressive 24,000 m2. The number of visitors effortlessly surpasses 15,000, but even more important is the composition of this audience: Solar Solutions International attracts a strictly business audience of decision-makers. In 2021, in addition to the existing visitor groups of installers, traders and dealers, we will be focusing heavily on the agricultural sector, real estate and commercial end users. You are thus assured of reaching the right audience.

From 16 to 18 March, Green Heating will also take place; the largest sustainable HVAC trade show in the Benelux.
